Are you a music head? Do you love listening to 90’s R&B? Join the R&B Club to discuss New Edition’s “Heartbreak” and get a full listening session of the album.
New Edition’s “Heart Break” was released in 1989 during the New Jack Swing era cultivated by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. During the making of “Heart Break”, New Edition was in a major transition. They were growing out of their teens into their twenties, having group troubles behind the scenes and working with new producers. They wanted to change their sound to fit their new gentlemen coming of age image. With the help of Jam & Lewis and voice of new group member Johnny Gill, they were able to change their sound from bubblegum pop to smooth New Jack Swing and R&B.
“Heart Break” spawned a number of the several top hit singles including “If It Isn’t Love” , “Can you Stand The Rain”, “You’re Not My Kind Of Girl” , “Boys To Men”, “N.E. Heartbreak” and “Crucial”.
FYI - Tickets are $5-$7 ; This is one of my favorite kind of events. I love listening and discussing timeless and classic albums // I’ll be there.
