Brunch Review : Brunch at Ella Grace

“Good Brunch” ?

In DC, our Sunday Funday is Brunch and it’s the best kind of Day Party there is. Which poses me to ask -- Where is a “good brunch” in DC? Especially where the brunch options are pretty much as bottomless as the mimosas. With brunches galore, we still seek to go hunting for those hidden gem good spots ready to try and recommend. Well, I’m here to drop a gem, a hidden Brunch gem tucked away on H Street, The Good Brunch at The Ella Grace. Good food. Good drinks. Good Energy.

Get ready to add this gem to your Brunch Bucketlist and bookmarks.

Nested on H Street is Ella Grace, a classy cocktail bar restaurant. Step into style and grace with 1920s charm, antique, vintage eclectic decor all decked throughout the restaurant with antiqued gold mirrors directing you upstairs. Upstairs, there’s more interior goals with an antique lounge with velvet couches and chairs, an aged piano, a vintage chandelier and more seating awaiting guests.

After admiring the aesthetics, we were ready for brunch. We were seated and greeted with hospitality by the GM & Bartender and enjoyed some of the best brunch entrees with crafted cocktails. Ella Grace’s Good Brunch menu serves up some of your traditional brunch favorites, BUT with a modern unique flare touch. Each entree is served with precision and top presentation. Aside from food, we enjoyed our cocktails made by the Bartender. He gave us a drink experience of his own (DrinksWithDiggs). Henny Margarita, Blackberry Orange Mimosa and the most popular drink, The Sex in The City - this is a must try. All cocktails with a splash of innovation and presentation.

Shrimp & grits

Menu favorite. Soft battered creamy grits, nice sized seasoned jumbo shrimp topped with green and red peppers. A Southern classic loaded with flavor. By far, the creamiest grits I’ve ever had.

CRAB cake EGG ROLLS

A Menu favorite. Ever wanted both a crab cake and an egg roll? This entree would be your absolute favorite. Two in one. Stuffed & loaded crab inside a crispy egg roll topped with a tasty sauce. I’m a true crab cake lover and tasting these made me wanting more. Truly outstanding taste.

blueberry honey french toast

Ella Grace’s French Toast is a cinnamon -loaded blast of breakfast flavor. Fluffy French Toast served with your choice of strawberry or blueberry fruit glaze. Pictured here is the Blueberry Honey French Toast. Having the Blueberry fruit glazed added the perfect unique touch to a classic brunch entree. It’s made of soft and thick Hawaiian bread that’s coated with cinnamon adding a slight crunchy texture to the dish.
