Galentines & The City

During this self-isolation/quarantine period, I’ve been thinking a lot about the past fun weekends that I’ve had before The Rona took over. You know, weekend events, socials, brunch. Just being out. One of them was Galentine’s Weekend, which was practically a month ago. Who would’ve thought just a month ago, I was out in city shopping and enjoying the weekend along with my galentines to now. The city is currently on Lockdown. IRONIC RIGHT?. Sooo, let me take you guys down memory lane on this episode of Galentines & The City.

GALENTINES & THE CITY

wish we could’ve slept here

Fresh out of Penn Station, Cassie and I made our way downtown to the hotel near Ground Zero to check-in and drop our bags. Of course when staying in a hotel, one typically expects a room with a view, quality service and a BIG COMFY BED to lay their head. This is, until we checked in our room.

A room with one bed; a bed that looked smaller than a full. I don’t know what was more confusing, the front desk trying persuade me that the bed was queen size or that 3 people can all sleep in one bed.

Of course I booked the room for 3 with double beds and of course the hotel gives us a room smaller than a studio with a bed that is meant for one. And in this case, it’s a party of 3. Awaiting for Anni’s arrival, Cassie & I headed upstairs to the hotel restaurant for lunch which was surprisingly good. Every girl’s trip requires shopping, food, partying and unforgettable experiences.

shopping in soho

Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping. When shopping in the city, the options are endless. Stores and boutiques on every corner. Particularly, the best shopping spots are in SoHo. Cassie and I shopped all down Broadway. Ladies, when in SoHo, stop by Miss Circle Showroom. This showroom was decked out in velvet couches, furry rugs and disco balls. Every look from the website were displayed. All must haves. Dressing Room chronicles of course. Cassie and I racked up on some fire looks. We scurried around for some more shopping, then headed back to hotel to get ready.

DRINKS, DINNER & Doozies

Sassy, classy and ready to hit the scene, our first stop — Dream Hotel. Keep in mind, it is Valentine’s Day weekend. So why not stop and smell the roses. Roses are RED, Violets are Blue, will I find bae at this bar and have a drink or two? Dream Downtown turned their Lobby Bar into an EPIC Winter Rose Garden. A Lover’s Dream Come True. 15,000 roses in a backdrop plus two hotties in jumpsuits equals new posts on the TL about to break the gram. Solo shots were taken, but the one with us together was taken by the guys at the bar eager to spark up conversation with us.

Joe & Joseph

Without further ado, let me introduce to Joe & Joseph. These two Yonkers gentlemen really made our night worth while. After snapping our pics, we made small talk with the guys. With dinner reservations at Beauty & Essex nearing, Anni let us know to meet her there. Some call it fashionably late, I call it perfect timing. With all in good company, the guys decided to join us.

Originally at party of 3 turned into a party of 5, the two gents treated us. Glasses of champagne and dinner on their dime. $400 was the first to be charged to the game. Next up was clubbing. Got in the club, and of course us girls were taken care of. A section to sit with bottle service, that is. Once again, on their dime. Sure, they thought they’d end the night with us, a sleepover in the hotel. Once they entered in our room, SIKE. But I guess chivalry isn’t quite dead.

Rosé, pediS & tIFFANY’S

Breakfast at The Deli, then bottles of bubbles awaits. Rosé all day to the Rosé Mansion we went. Rosé, fun instagrammy photos and all shades of pink. On the contrary, we wore shades of purple. We all are like fine wines. Blended differently, but gets better with age.

After Rosé Mansion, we got pedis and dinner. What better way to end the day. Sadly enough, our trip was coming to an end. Feels like time goes by too fast when in New York. So for our last excursion, we went to Tiffany & Co. Tiffany’s opened a temporary flower shop to showcase their exclusive floral Bouquets 💐 wrapped in their iconic Blue bags with a white ribbon. Tried on rings but ain't gon' be no "Mrs." anytime soon. Me & my friends rather spoil ourselves with flowers, pedis, rings and shopping. Caught a couple of flicks and looked at some more jewels. I think we pretty much had the ultimate Galentine weekend. What more could we ask for?

Look out for our next trip.
